ChaosBits.net - Homepage of Jesper Juhl

My name is Jesper Juhl and I run ChaosBits.net - this is my personal page.

In the future I may put some interesting stuff here, but currently there are just a few boring details about me.

I was born in 1976 and I currently work as a C/C++ programmer at a company in Denmark called Cohaesio. The main products we work on in the software development department, where I spend my days, are Keepit - a backup product mainly targeted at private customers, and SysOrb - a server & network monitoring system.
Other places I've worked include Zoma Electronics (electronics assembly company - I did manual assembly of various electronic components), TestHouse (software and website testing, quality control and telephone hotline support - I did both testing and phone support), The Sports Confederation of Denmark (they care about sports, I don't - I worked as a Linux, Unix and Windows systems administrator and also managed misc network equipment), Eisenstein (at the time a web development company - I did HTML, SQL, PHP & C development), UNI2 (a Danish hosting provider mainly for business customers - now bought by TDC Hosting - I worked as a Unix and Linux systems administrator),and Surftown (a Danish hosting provider for private customers - I was employed as a Linux systems administrator).
I was a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) a while back, but I haven't kept that certification up-to-date.

I live with my girlfriend Rikke in Copenhagen (Denmark) and we have two children (twins). Their names are Idun (a girl) and Fenris (a boy) - they were born on the 22'nd of October 2008.

In the little spare time I have, I enjoy working on Linux kernel development and various other personal (C++) development projects.
Linux is my operating system of choice and I greatly prefer the Slackware distribution. But I have also worked with IBM AiX, Digital UNIX, Sun Solaris, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and (to a limited extend) various versions of Microsoft Windows.
I also enjoy music - mainly Heavy metal, Classical rock, Blues and Opera. When I read books (and I often do) I enjoy fantasy and science fiction.
